3Q2026 due October 31, 2026Period July 1 – September 30, 2026

October 31 is a Saturday. IFTA R960.100 treats the next business day — Monday, November 2, 2026 — as the due date for most licensees. Calendar deadline only. We do not file or extend it.

Free to calculate. No account. Inputs stay in this browser. Unlock watermark-free PDF + CSV for $19 when the numbers look right.

You already have the miles

The quarter is on the calendar. A bookkeeper or IFTA service will charge $50–150+ to retype trip sheets you already keep. FileIFTA does the IFTA-101 math in this browser — fleet MPG to two decimals, taxable gallons by jurisdiction, Kentucky and Virginia surcharge lines — and shows net due before you pay anyone.

The sample card is example IFTA tax due on a Gulf Coast trip, not the product price. FileIFTA is $19 this quarter.

Who this is for

  • One qualified motor vehicle, Special Diesel, quarterly IFTA.
  • You already have miles by state from your trip sheets, GPS printout, or logbook — we do not pull ELD data.
  • You have pump receipts for tax-paid gallons. Keep them; your base jurisdiction can ask.

Not for multi-truck fleets, gasoline tax-holiday splits, or e-file with a state. Oregon still appears (rate $0.00) so you can report miles.

Three steps, then you file

No account. No ELD. No support form. The math follows IFTA-101 instructions, including surcharge lines where the official matrix requires them.

  1. 01

    Enter fleet MPG inputs

Total miles and total gallons for the quarter. FileIFTA computes average fleet MPG the way IFTA-101 does: miles ÷ gallons, two decimal places.

  2. 02

Add miles and tax-paid fuel by jurisdiction

Type them in, or upload a CSV with jurisdiction, miles, and tax_paid_gallons. All 58 IFTA members are in the list — U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

  3. 03

See net due, then print if you want

Net tax due is free. Unlock removes the DRAFT watermark from the IFTA-101-style PDF and matching CSV so you can transcribe it onto the return your base jurisdiction actually accepts.

Free to calculate. $19 to print clean.

See net tax due with no card. $19 removes the DRAFT watermark from the 3Q2026 PDF and CSV. A bookkeeper or filing service is typically $50–150+ for the same typing.

Owner-operator IFTA questions

Straight answers for a one-truck filing. See also the 3Q2026 deadline and IFTA-101 vs IFTA-100.

When is the IFTA Q3 2026 return due?
The IFTA quarterly return for 3Q2026 (July 1 – September 30, 2026) is due October 31, 2026. That calendar date is a Saturday. IFTA Articles of Agreement R960.100 treats the next business day as the due date when the last day of the month is a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday — Monday, November 2, 2026 for most licensees. Confirm the date your base jurisdiction’s portal uses. FileIFTA does not file or extend the deadline for you.
What do I need to prepare an owner-operator IFTA filing?
Total miles and total Special Diesel gallons for the quarter (FileIFTA computes fleet MPG the IFTA-101 way: miles ÷ gallons, two decimals), miles by IFTA jurisdiction, and tax-paid gallons from pump receipts. You do not need an ELD hookup. Keep the receipts; your base jurisdiction can ask for them.
Is FileIFTA a filing service?
No. FileIFTA is a self-serve IFTA calculator and IFTA-101-style report generator. We do not submit, sign, or certify your return, and we do not talk to any state. You transcribe the worksheet onto the return your base jurisdiction actually accepts and file it yourself.
Do Kentucky and Virginia diesel miles need a surcharge line?
Yes for 3Q2026 Special Diesel. The IFTA, Inc. matrix lists a Kentucky surcharge of $0.1050 per gallon and a Virginia surcharge of $0.1430 per gallon as separate rows. FileIFTA emits a second IFTA-101 line for each. Indiana has a surcharge row, but Special Diesel is blank (propane only), so a diesel-only return does not get an Indiana surcharge line. Confirm against the official matrix before you file.
What is an IFTA quarterly report PDF from FileIFTA?
It is an IFTA-101-style schedule (miles, gallons, and tax by jurisdiction) with an IFTA-100-style summary (taxpayer, fleet MPG, net due). It is a worksheet you can download as PDF and CSV — not the official form your state issues. Calculating net tax due is free. The watermark-free PDF and CSV for 3Q2026 are $19.
Do I need an account or an ELD hookup?
No. FileIFTA does not create an account. Miles, gallons, and taxpayer fields stay in this browser. We do not connect to an ELD. Type figures from your trip sheets, GPS printout, or logbook — or upload a CSV with jurisdiction, miles, and tax_paid_gallons.
What if I switch phones or clear this browser?
The $19 unlock is stored as FILEIFTA_PAID in this browser only. Use Restore purchase on the worksheet with the email you used at Stripe Checkout or the Checkout Session id from your receipt. FileIFTA does not store your PDF; restore re-enables watermark-free download for data still in that browser or that you re-enter.
How is $19 different from a bookkeeper or filing service?
A bookkeeper or IFTA filing service typically charges $50–150+ and still needs the same miles and pump receipts. FileIFTA lets you calculate net tax due for free. $19 unlocks a watermark-free IFTA-101-style PDF and CSV for 3Q2026. We do not file, sign, or talk to any state — you file with your base jurisdiction.
