IFTA Q3 2026 deadline: October 31, 2026
Use this page as a calendar reminder, then prepare the worksheet yourself.
IFTA quarterly fuel-use tax returns are due on the last day of the month after the quarter closes. For 3Q2026 that is October 31, 2026, covering July 1 – September 30, 2026.
October 31, 2026 is a Saturday. IFTA Articles of Agreement R960.100 says that when the last day of the month is a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the next business day is the due date. For most licensees that is Monday, November 2, 2026. Your base jurisdiction’s e-file portal may still label the due date October 31 — confirm there, and do not wait on FileIFTA. We are not a filing service and we cannot grant an extension.

What you need before you file
- Total miles and total Special Diesel gallons for the quarter (fleet MPG).
- Miles by IFTA jurisdiction from trip sheets, GPS, or your logbook.
- Tax-paid gallons from pump receipts. Keep the paper or PDF copies.
- Your IFTA license / account number and the return your base jurisdiction actually accepts — FileIFTA’s PDF is a worksheet, not an e-file.
Kentucky and Virginia Special Diesel still need a separate surcharge line on 3Q2026. See IFTA-101 vs IFTA-100 if you are staring at two different form numbers.
Prepare your 3Q2026 return in the calculator, then file it yourself with your base jurisdiction.
